Job Description:

Position Objective and Specific Tasks.

A new vaccination initiative is being launched to enhance immunization services both demand generation and service delivery in remote and underserved communities. This project requires a dedicated Social Mobilizer responsible for leading the mobile vaccination team in outreach activities, promoting awareness about immunization, and addressing community concerns to increase vaccine acceptance. The primary focus is on ensuring that the target population, especially zero-dose children, is reached and vaccinated effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate mobile vaccination team activities in targeted communities.
• Engage with local communities to raise awareness about the importance of immunization.
• Identify and address vaccine hesitancy and refusals through effective communication and dialogue.
• Work closely with community leaders, influencers, and stakeholders to strengthen immunization efforts.
• Ensure and support that mobile teams reach and vaccinate zero-dose children and underserved populations.
• Conduct regular field visits to assess community perceptions and vaccination coverage.
• Collect and report data on community engagement, refusals, and immunization progress.
• Identify and plan awareness sessions in areas where vaccine coverage is suboptimal.
• Mapping of Schools and Madaris for arranging sessions with parents and teachers and students in schools for sensitization and awareness.
• Mapping and support mobile vaccination teams to identify & establish outreach site at Dera/houses in communities with vaccine hesitancy.
• Profiling of refusal households according to tribe, culture, cast and language.
• Collaborating and engaging local private/public health care providers/clinics for raising awareness among the community.
• Prepare weekly/monthly plan for community engagements.
• Weekly submission of activities reports on standard format.
• Collaborate with healthcare workers and government health officials to enhance outreach strategies.
• Organize and participate in advocacy meetings, community sessions, and health awareness campaigns.

Educational Requirements and Skills. 

The ideal candidate for this role should have the following qualifications and attributes:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, Community Development, or a related field.
• At least 2-3 years of relevant field working experience.
• Prior experience in social mobilization, community engagement, or public health initiatives is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse communities effectively.
• Ability to work in challenging field conditions and travel to remote areas as required.
• Fluency in local languages is an asset.
