Primary Objectives of the Position:

The primary objective of the Senior CAD (Computer aided design) officer is to;

• Provide technical Support to the design consultant in Design Development and provide technical inputs and review.
• The Senior CAD Officer will serve as a bridge between field teams, design consultants, and project managers, ensuring that design changes are accurately reflected on as built drawings considering actual work done at site.
• To supervise the construction of BCRE main complex at Quetta, ensuring adherence to design, quality, ensure safety standards, monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure timely project completion within budget.

Job Responsibilities:

Design and Drafting: Create, review, and modify detailed drawings for various engineering and architectural projects using CAD tools / software.

Site Supervision and Mentoring: Supervise the construction of BCRE main complex at BUITEMS Quetta or any other project, ensuring adherence to design, quality, ensure safety standards, monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure timely project completion within budget.

Quality Control: Review technical drawings and plans for accuracy, compliance with specifications, and relevant standards.

Collaboration: Work closely with senior manager technical and coordinator technical, design consultants, donors, and field engineers, to understand project requirements and design intent, translating them into CAD formats.

Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain proper documentation of all design drawings, revisions, and project-related CAD files.

Revised and as built Drawings:  Serve as a bridge between field teams, design consultants, and project managers, ensuring that design changes are accurately reflected on as built drawings considering actual work done at site.

Software Management: Stay updated with the latest CAD software tools and other design software & technologies, ensuring the team uses the most effective and efficient systems.

Compliance: Ensure that all designs meet relevant regulations, codes, donor guidelines and construction industry standards.

Technical Skills

Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge and experience in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD 2D& 3D, Revit, SketchUp, Lumion, Archi CAD and MS office etc.).

Design Knowledge: Strong understanding of engineering or architectural design principles.

Site Supervision: Ability to supervise the constriction work at site in accordance with the approved drawings, designs and specifications.

Communication Skills: Effective communication to understand design requirements and provide progress updates.

Problem-Solving: Capable of troubleshooting design issues and proposing solutions.

Directly Reports to: Coordinator Technical

Indirectly reports to: Senior Manager Technical / HoD-PITD

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years work experience in similar nature role.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering
• Additional CAD-specific certifications being an asset.
• Candidate Must be registered with PCATP.
