AKHS, P is looking for a seasoned and dynamic Dental Hygienist for its Sindh Region
Key Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Care:
- Assist the dentist in all dental procedures and consultations
- Follow infection control guidelines for sterilization of instruments and disinfection of equipment and dental clinic.
- Perform oral health screenings, dental cleanings (scaling and polishing), and fluoride applications.
- Take dental histories, chart oral health status, and assist in diagnosing gum disease or other oral conditions.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, diet, and lifestyle practices to promote good oral health.
- Identify patients requiring further dental or medical intervention and assist in referrals.
2.Patient Education & Counseling:
- Provide one-on-one and group-based oral health education within the health center and during outreach camps.
- Conduct oral hygiene awareness sessions for walk-in patients, attendants, and community members.
- Distribute educational materials and promote regular dental visits and preventive care.
3. Outreach & Community Engagement:
- Participate in school health programs, workplace awareness drives, and community dental camps.
- Organize and support oral screening and counseling activities during medical outreach programs.
- Act as a liaison with local stakeholders and communities to promote oral health initiatives.
- Willing to work at different centers as assigned by manager
4. Administrative & Follow-Up Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate documentation of screenings, counseling, procedures, and referrals.
- Track and follow up with patients referred for further dental procedures.
- Attend meetings as request by management
Education, Experience & Competencies:
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene
- Minimum 1-2 years in a clinical or community dental setting preferred.
- Proficient in all dental procedures and infection control protocols
- Proficient in scaling, oral screening, and patient education and infection control protocols
- Excellent communication, community engagement, and organizational skills. Comfortable speaking in public settings. Proficient Computer Skills
- Willingness to travel for outreach programs; familiarity with underserved communities
