HANDS intends to hire a GIS Expert to conduct comprehensive field-based geospatial data collection and mapping of all Health Facilities (HFs) within the project districts. The assignment will support evidence-based planning, monitoring, referral optimization, and emergency response preparedness.
Key Activities
The GIS Expert will be responsible for:
- Field Data Collection
- Conduct physical verification visits to all project-supported health facilities (BHUs, RHCs, THQs, DHQs, PPP hospitals).
- Capture GPS coordinates (latitude/longitude) of each facility using GPS-enabled devices.
- Record facility attributes including facility name, type, catchment area, services available, and contact details.
- Geo-Tagging & Mapping
- Geo-tag all health facilities on Google Maps.
- Develop interactive digital maps displaying facility locations, service packages, referral linkages, and accessibility routes.
- Create district-wise and program-wise GIS layers.
- Data Cleaning & Validation
- Validate GPS accuracy and remove duplication.
- Cross-verify mapped facilities with district health department records.
- GIS Database Development
- Develop a centralized GIS database of all health facilities.
- Integrate HF data into HANDS’ MEAL/MIS systems.
- Reporting & Data Sharing
- Provide Excel/CSV databases of GPS-tagged facilities.
- Provide Google Map links and GIS shape files.
- Submit summary analytical reports highlighting service gaps and geographic coverage.
- Capacity Building
- Train HANDS MIS/MEAL staff on updating and maintaining GIS layers.
