About the Role:
A humanitarian and Development organization is hiring a MEAL Assistant for the Education Project to support the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning functions of the programme. S/he will assist in data collection, data entry, accountability processes, reporting, and field monitoring to ensure quality implementation of project activities, including enrolment, remedial learning, safeguarding, and girls’ agency initiatives. The MEAL Assistant will also support community feedback mechanisms and ensure timely documentation of success stories and lessons learned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in gathering quantitative and qualitative data across all programme components, including enrolment, safe learning spaces, and girls' clubs; conduct regular field visits to monitor implementation quality.
- Administer MEL tools such as attendance sheets, pre/post-tests, and activity trackers to ensure consistent and accurate data collection.
- Support baseline, midline, and end-line evaluations; help collect success stories and lessons learned; participate in reflection sessions to improve project delivery.
- Maintain and manage community feedback mechanisms, ensuring timely documentation and resolution of complaints, while integrating GESI and safeguarding considerations.
- Ensure accurate data entry, validation, and cleaning; support the preparation of regular internal and donor MEAL reports.
- Assist in training field teams and SMCs on MEAL tools and systems; coordinate with partners and local stakeholders on MEAL activities.
Eligibility:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Education, Statistics, Development Studies, or a related field.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in MEAL, preferably within education or child protection projects.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in data collection tools (e.g., Kobo Toolbox, ODK, Excel) and familiarity with accountability and community engagement mechanisms.
- Knowledge of GESI, safeguarding, SBCC campaign monitoring, and documenting human interest stories (desirable).
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with fluency in local languages.
- Willingness to travel frequently
